7.00pm Friday
24th October 2008 ~ FRIDAY EVENT COMPLETELY SOLD OUT ~
A gala night with a difference, a chance to mix and mingle with Cumbria's A-list celebrities and dance with the stars! Strictly Dine and Dance is a new Fundraising Event we have devised based on the very popular TV series, "Strictly Come Dancing" The evening starts with a Champagne reception
followed by a magnificent six course gala dinner followed by a very
special unique dancing competition to select our You will be the Judge Each of our ten couples will perform a dance they have practiced and then our panel of judges will comment on their performance. After everyone has danced the judges will retire and pick five finalists to compete for the title, Strictly Dine & Dance Champions. Each of these five couples will once again dance and then those attending the event will vote for their favourite couple. Dance the night away Following the competition you will be able to join our celebrity couples on the floor and dance the night away - well until about 1.00am anyway! The Cost We are pleased to offer places at this function for only £39.50 per place with corporate tables of 10 (£395) and 12 (£475) available. The price includes some special souvenir items for the table guests. We also have a special Platinum Package available for corporate supporters which includes the addition of four bottles of wine (two white and two red) plus two bottles of Champagne for the table. The Platinum Package price is £600 for a table of 10 and £720 for a table of twelve. Why support this event Aside from the amazing and fun night we have planned, Strictly Dine & Dance will raise vital funds for Eden Valley Hospice. The Hospice cares for patients, both adult and children, from the Cumbria area with life-limiting illnesses including cancer, and other conditions such as motor neurone disease, muscular dystrophy and multiple sclerosis. We strive to provide the highest standards of
nursing and medical care, to sustain quality of life and dignity and
to provide patients with relief from pain. To the families, friends
and carers of our patients we extend the same loving support, help and
counselling, as such illnesses affect whole families. But, this has an inevitable cost, we face the challenge of raising around £2million a year to operate, about 20% of this is provided by the NHS leaving us a shortfall of around £1.6million to be found from the continuing generosity of the local communities.
