Welcome to our 2010
Carlisle Midnight
Walk website. This is the third year
of the walk and we have some exciting plans to make this year's
event even better than before!
This year we are limited to
1500 walkers
Last year's event was simply
an amazing experience and 1,500
ladies braved the elements and took to the streets of Carlisle to
support the work of your Local Hospice. We are grateful to each
and every walker that took part. About £150,000 was raised for
the Hospice.
Our 2010 Carlisle walk will
start on the stroke of midnight on
Friday 25 June and
takes the form of a
6 mile (10K) sponsored walk round Carlisle to raise funds for the work of Eden
Valley Hospice.
Walk for a Reason
Whether you want to walk to remember a loved one, get fit, have
a great night out with friends or colleagues, meet new friends
amongst the many women who'll be joining you, or just support
the vital work of Eden Valley Hospice, we need you to sign up
now!
Fancy Dress
Last year many of the ladies did the walk in
fancy dress, nurses in nighties, ladies in leotards, incredible
hulks, bees, pink ladies and even fairies. It all adds to the
fun of the occasion and the spectacle of 1500 ladies walking the
streets of Carlisle at midnight, some in strange apparel just
makes the event so special.
Walk with Friends
Entry is only £10.00 per walker and every walker will receive a
special Hospice Tee-Shirt, Glow stick and refreshments for the
walk and a special certificate and medal for every lady
who completes the walk.
Dog Friendly
Quite a few of our walkers last year brought their dog as a
chaperone for the walk, we are happy to facilitate this again
provided you keep your dog well under control and on a lead.
(Don't forget to scoop that poop should nature call).
Sponsored Event
Our Midnight Walk is a chance for ladies to raise vital funds
for the hospice through sponsorship and we ask each walker to
raise as much as they can to support our care for people with
terminal or life-limiting illnesses. As part of this sponsorship
we ask that you pay £10 in advance sponsorship as a registration
fee to take part and then the balance of your sponsorship as
soon after the event as possible.
Unlike last year we ask that you
DO NOT HAND IN ANY SPONSORSHIP MONEY ON THE NIGHT OF THE WALK.
Just send us as much as you can as soon after the walk as
possible. As a thank you we will enter each
lady who returns their sponsor money by 31 August into a free
prize draw to win a fantastic prize. When you register we
will send you a registration pack with all you need to get your
fundraising
underway and on the night a freepost envelope you can use to
send us your sponsorship.

Entertainment
We
really appreciate the support each lady gives to this event,
helping to raise important and
very much needed funds for the hospice is very much appreciated
and very welcome.
Therefore we are pleased to introduce new
pre-walk entertainment for everyone taking part at our special
pre-walk party. The party starts at 9.30pm on our special stage
in the car park of Tesco's and will feature one of the
countries top Take That tribute bands -
Take That Now
who will entertain you from about 10.15pm.
The 25 June is the first anniversary of the
death of Michael Jackson and we plan to mark the occasion with a
"Thriller" of a night and some intense "Moonwalking" as part of
the warm up.
Your Registration Pack
Once you register to take part we will send you our special
Midnight Walk registration pack, within this pack you will
receive more details of the walk, a sponsorship form, some
sponsorship hints and tips, your walk number, a training
schedule for your walk and an exclusive Midnight Walk Tee-shirt
that you can customise if you wish. (New Tee-Shirt design for
2010)
