“Eden Valley Hospice will provide palliative care for people with incurable or life limiting illnesses enabling them and their carers to live life as fully and independently as possible. We will deliver services with a common focus, working collaboratively across north Cumbria and beyond”.

Eden Valley Hospice, situated in the heart of North Cumbria on the south side of Carlisle, it serves communities throughout North Cumbria and the Eden Valley area - a total of over ½ million people.

Set amid peaceful landscaped gardens, the hospice was established in 1991 to provide care and support for people in the community with terminal or life-limiting illnesses. The hospice offers day care for adults and children and residential care for up to 12 adult patients at any one time.

The hospice is committed to the provision of specialist and medical care in addition to complementary therapies, chaplaincy and bereavement support for as long as necessary. Care is provided free and referrals to the hospice come from general practitioners and hospital consultants.

But all this has an inevitable cost.  We now need over £2 million a year to fund our work. About a 20% of this is provided by the NHS, leaving a shortfall of about £1.5 million to be found through the continuing generosity, help and support of the local communities.

Your support of Eden Valley Hospice enables us to: -
